Kit Kemp, co-owner and Creative Director for Firmdale Hotels, is committed to the humanity of craft processes and maintaining the mark of the human hand in the environments she designs. This flatwoven jute rug is an eye-popping fusion of lush, verdant shades of Green Sprout, Leaf with fiery pops of Crimson, Scarlet, Coral and Gold. Inspired by the narrow strips from traditional backstrap loom weaving, which are traditionally pieced together to create random ladder stripes, this timeless creation evolved from the design collaboration between Annie and Kit, united by their passion for colorful and carefree design, redefining traditional forms of craft for modern life.
